Fireworks have been made by hand in China since they were invented more than 1,000 years ago.
Yet companies like Zhongzhou Fireworks in Liuyang, Central China's Hunan province, have begun to automate production to meet the government's tightened security requirements.
Product quality has been improved, and safety risks have been reduced.
The automatic production line of Zhongzhou Fireworks produces 7,000 boxes of fireworks a day - one box every 15 seconds.
