Xi extends good wishes ahead of Intl Children's Day

BEIJING - President Xi Jinping wished Chinese children a happy International Children's Day in a letter to some primary school students Wednesday.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, said that he hoped the students would learn more about the history of the Chinese revolution, development and reform; follow the example of heroes; devote their passion to the Party, the motherland and the people; and carry on the fine traditions.
He said he expected the students to be grateful of their happy life, make good use of their time, and study hard so that they will contribute to the nation, the people and society in the future.
Xi's missive was a reply to a recent letter from 51 students of a primary school in Zhaojin township in Northwest China's Shaanxi province, which Xi visited in February 2015. The town was once a revolutionary base.
