Chip giant AMD is joining hands with the fifth China International Import Expo to showcase its latest technologies and solutions that empower digital transformation and energy-efficient data center computing.

With the theme "Enabling for Reaching the Carbon Peak and Neutrality Goals", it is the second consecutive year for the company to attend the event.

At its booth, AMD is demonstrating the third-generation AMD EPYC Processors and the latest AMD Instinct MI100 and MI210 Accelerators. While providing powerful computing power, the third-generation AMD EPYC Processors can help reduce the total cost of ownership and boost energy efficiency.

AMD is also showcasing the Lenovo ThinkStation P620 equipped with AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO Processors, the first 64-core workstation platform released in the industry. It offers more than 200 full-suite Independent Software Vendors certifications and fully supports complicated applications with the aim to lead the industry standard in computing performance of professional workstations.

Computing power has become the driving force for digital transformation. With innovative computing and energy-efficient technologies, AMD is empowering construction and operations of advanced and highly efficient data centers, the company said.

With more than 50 years of history, AMD is now developing high-performance and adaptive processor technologies, combining central processing units, graphic processing units, field programmable gate array and deep software expertise to enable computing platforms for cloud, edge and end-devices.

It has been setting the standard for modern computing through its innovation advantages in architecture optimization, platform optimization and advanced technology.

AMD launched a new brand platform "together we advance_" in June, which demonstrates that with its partners, customers and employees, AMD is advancing innovation to help create solutions to tough challenges worldwide.

"The new brand campaign highlights AMD's sincerity and determination to cooperate with the local information technology industry and make contributions to China's digital economy and sustainable development," said Spencer Pan, senior vice-president and president of AMD Greater China.

While providing powerful products and solutions, AMD is also dedicated to creating innovative solutions to help customers and end-users reduce their own energy use and associated carbon emissions.

The Data Center Computing Carbon Efficiency White Paper, released by the Open Data Center Committee, said servers powered by AMD EPYC CPUs can help reduce carbon emissions by up to 43 percent under specific computing conditions.

With outstanding energy efficiency, Tencent Cloud Server AC221 obtained 5A certification for carbon emissions reduction from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and the Open Data Center Committee, the highest ranking for data center energy efficiency in China.

AMD announced its goal in 2021 to achieve a 30-fold increase in energy efficiency by 2025 for AMD processors and accelerators powering servers.

"At AMD, we prioritize energy efficiency in the development of our high-performance and adaptive computing solutions to help customers reduce costs, preserve natural resources, and mitigate climate effects," Pan said. "We do this by holistically approaching the design for power optimization across architecture, packaging, connectivity and software.

"AMD is committed to strengthening collaboration with related parties to contribute to China's digital economy development and its carbon peak and neutrality goals."
