A new book featuring overseas experts' views on China's extraordinary developments over the past decade was released on the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on Friday.

The book contains articles from 18 experts in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and overseas areas.

It comprehensively presents international communities' views on China's historical changes under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and expressed strong confidence in the nation's future development.

The experts include leading scholars, scientists, political researchers and business leaders who have a deep understanding of Chinese affairs, such as British economist Jim O'Neill, who coined the acronym "BRIC" to summarize the likely rising economic relevance of Brazil, Russia, India and China.

There were also Martin Jacques, former senior fellow at Cambridge University; Robert Lawrence Kuhn, chairman of the Kuhn Foundation and winner of the China Reform Friendship Medal; Arieh Warshel, an Israeli winner of Nobel Prize in chemistry and former Japanese prime minister Yukio Hatoyama.

Hong Kong experts who contributed to the book include Zheng Yongnian, presidential chair professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen; Allan Zeman, chairman of Lan Kwai Fong Group; and Grenville Cross, former director of Public Prosecutions of Hong Kong.

The book, which has versions in traditional and simple Chinese, was curated by Bauhinia Magazine.

During Friday's book release ceremony in Hong Kong, Chief Secretary for Administration Eric Chan Kwok-ki said he believes the book will offer insights for Hong Kong communities to think how to make greater contributions to Hong Kong's long-term prosperity and the nation's great rejuvenation.

Wen Hongwu, general manager of Bauhinia Culture Holdings Limited, said that the book thoroughly interprets China's development in the past decade from a global perspective. He believes it will help readers on the mainland and in the Hong Kong and Macao SARs better understand the country's latest achievements.
