The Wuxi stop of the 2025 FIE Women's Epee World Cup took place in Huishan district, Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, from May 23 to 25, featuring both individual and team events.

The event has gathered 131 of the world's top female epee fencers, including six of the top 10 ranked athletes.

Three of the world top five female epee fencers participated in an interview, discussing their current form, expectations for the competition, what fencing means to them, as well as their impressions of the host city, Wuxi.

Last month, Wuxi also hosted the 2025 Junior & Cadet Fencing World Championships, which left a lasting impression on athletes, coaches, and officials.

"I was really blown away with the spectacle, organization, and media," said Hadley Husisian from the United States, currently ranked fourth worldwide in women's epee, reflecting on her experience watching the junior championships. Now competing in Wuxi herself, she added, "Over the next few days, I hope to be able to explore the city while still focusing on the competition."

The interviewed athletes also received exquisite gifts from the local Huishan Clay Figurine Factory. They were captivated by the beauty and intricate craftsmanship of the Huishan clay figurines. This traditional craft, which originated in Wuxi, usually features plump, cheerful figures that symbolize good fortune and joy.
