I have been dealing with foreigners and foreign-related companies and institutions for more than 30 years, and have experienced firsthand the rapid development of the opening-up of our country. I will work harder to facilitate travel of more foreign friends who come to Shanghai for investment, tourism and business, so that more people will come here again and become interested in the city.

Every day, my colleagues and I work to detect illicit drugs and smuggled items hidden and disguised in vehicles, and lay ambushes deep in the jungle to intercept criminals who attempt to escape inspection. Be it bearing mosquito bites while laying ambushes in the jungle or engaging in deadly fights with drug traffickers, and no matter how tough, exhausting, dangerous and difficult the situation is, I always believe that the more we persevere, the less the country is exposed to the threat of illicit drugs.

Through systematically studying samples of certificates of more than 200 countries and regions, I have gradually gained experience in telling fake certificates. I am able to guard the country and the people at the airport, and witness and participate in the high-level opening-up and high-quality development of China. I have led the research and development of several instruments to determine the authenticity of exit-entry certificates, and obtained three national patents. With the support from information science and technology, we have kept improving our ability to tackle crimes harming border management and ensure border security.

My daily work is to ensure the safety of the 2,500 square-kilometer jurisdiction at the cold border area with thin oxygen and a complicated terrain at an average altitude of 4,300 meters, and to protect the more than 200 households of herdspeople, and their cattle and sheep. In recent years, we have applied high-tech and new equipment in our law enforcement. For example, we have...deployed multiple kinds of drones in border patrols. We will further strengthen the application of new technologies and equipment, such as robots and robotic dogs in our border management work.
