Anne Hathaway Talks Oscars in Harper’s Bazaar

Anne Hathaway won’t exactly go down as the top Academy Awards host of all-time. She and James Franco were universally panned for their performance on March 2011.

“In the grand scheme of things, I got to have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Hathaway says in the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar. “I met great people, wore beautiful clothes. And I got to put on a show. I don’t see a downside. Anyone who disliked my personality probably disliked my personality before the Oscars.”

The gorgeous actress certainly isn’t hurting professionally as a result: she’ll portray Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises. “I’ve always thought that skinny was the goal, but with this job I also have to be strong,” she says in the interview.

Taylor Swift Remains Hopeful

In a new interview with InStyle, Taylor Swift is asked about her take on romance and the fact that she pens so many songs about ex-boyfriends.

“There are no rules when it comes to love,” she says. “I just try to let love surprise me because you never know who you’re going to fall in love with. You never know who’s going to come into your life—and for me, when I picture the person I want to end up with, I don’t think about what their career is, or what they look like. I picture the feeling I get when I’m with them.”

But have the failed relationships taken a toll on her outlook? No way, she says.

“I’m really a daydreamer...When it comes to ‘happily ever after’, I always have a tendency to write a happy ending to my songs. That’s probably wishful thinking on my part.”

The Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides actress got teary when asked how having a baby changed her life.

Penelope started, “One second... This has never happened to me. This is really funny. I’m sorry. It’s unexpected. From the first second, you feel so much love. It is a revolutionary experience.”

“That’s the best way I can describe it. It transforms you completely, in a second. Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment, when you see that face, you are transformed forever.”

“Even if you have heard from all your friends and family, ‘This is what’s going to happen,’ until it happens to you, it’s hard to understand in your soul.”
